FC Central Mass Bolts u11's win Final Four Championship in New Hampshire

FC Central Mass Bolts u11’s capped off a fantastic NEP season (9-1-0) by taking the Final Four Championship I in Epping, NH this weekend. The boys faced the Bayside Bolts 01/02, the only team to beat them during the regular season, in the first semi-final. The boys eventually came through as 3-0 winners courtesy of goals from Jack Phelps (2) and Mitchell Tebo. Mitch’s trademark back post header settled the affair and allowed the CM Bolts to slow the game down and preserve energy for the final. The Final was a great match to watch and sparked into life early in the first half with Jack Phelps (2) and Toby ’Baysa’ (2) getting the CM Bolts rolling. Although the boys gave up a calamity goal right before halftime they were able to snatch a killer fourth early in the second half and kill the game off as a contest. The Bolts held on to win the game 4-2 and take the Final Four Championship Trophy back to Berlin, Mass. Congratulations to all the CM Bolts u11’s for a wonderful season recording some memorable statistics (11-1-0).

FC Central Mass Bolts u11's win NEP Championship I

The FC Central Mass Bolts u11’s tied up the NEP Championship season with 2 big victories at Lancaster this past weekend. The season record of 9 wins and only 1 defeat was truly a remarkable feat and leaves the team going through to the Final Four weekend as the top seeded team in the their Division. Memorable moments from the season include seeing skipper Benjamin Duby recording his first Bolts hat-trick, Jack Phelps terrorizing defense after defense and a massive season from Ryan Beck in defensive midfield. The whole team has worked hard to put a difficult Fall season behind them and bounce back playing attractive attacking football. Coach Greiner added "What a season, what a response from the boys. Our Fall season wasn’t as bad as the record suggested. We’ve just begun to understand that mistakes at a high level will get you punished much more frequently. This season has been such a contrast with the intent always being there. Once again I get to be part of something cool and I can only thanks the boys for allowing me that. Well done lads."

u13s Come up big in first 2 games at NEFC Tournament

The FC Central Mass Bolts u13 boys produced 2 outstanding displays in their first 2 games at the NEFC 2013 Tournament. The first game was a comfortable 11-1 victory versus NEFC METRO NORTH UNITED U13s. Sunday morning’s game against WORLD CUP SC OF GREATER NASHUA boys was a much tougher affair with both teams vying for the top spot in the group. FCCM Bolts scored early on through a smart chip over the advancing WC goalkeeper. The lead didn’t last long and the WC were soon level with a smartly taken goal of their own. As the game wore on FCCM Bolts had the better chances, but despite the pressure the boys couldn’t turn their chances into goals. Eventually it took a well placed freekick to break the deadlock and although WC rushed to fightback and get an equalizer the FCCM Bolts boys hung on for the 2-1 victory. The win means that if they can repeat the feat on Sunday they will continue to the final later the same day. Well done Coach Teggart, Coach Gentleman and all the boys for two days of solid soccer. Notable mention to Nick McGrath in the FCCM Bolts defence, fantastic showing by the young lad.

The Bolts Launch FC Central Mass Bolts

Brian Ainscough, Director of Coaching and Technical Director for FC Bolts Celtic, formerly known as FC Greater Boston Bolts, announced today that the club is expanding into Central Massachusetts, with teams beginning league play in Fall 2012.

“We are extremely excited to be bringing the Bolts Way to Central Massachusetts!  The new FC Central Mass Bolts will be part of FC Bolts Celtic.  The club decided that there was a tremendous opportunity for us to offer talented and committed younger soccer players the opportunity to play with Bolts coaches, using the Bolts Training System, locally, reducing the amount of travel time placed on younger players and their families.  Players in the U10-U12 age groups may choose to continue to play travel soccer with their town clubs.  For players in Central Massachusetts, this provides them additional soccer training at the highest level.”

Ainscough added “we are very pleased to announce that the coaching staff in Central Massachusetts will be led by Dave TeggartMarco Koolman, head men’s soccer coach at Holy Cross, and will include Chris Gbandi, assistant men’s soccer coach at Holy Cross and Andrew Greiner, formerly of FC Celtic. Additional coaches will be named shortly. These coaches have significant playing experience; have been coaching successfully for many years; and are committed to ensuring player development”.   Ainscough concluded, "The biggest benefit of creating a premier option is to give the most talented soccer players in the Central Massachusetts region the opportunity to play at a higher level without traveling great distances. We are bringing the best coaches and the best training directly to them.”
