Boys Pre-Academy 2000, 2002, 1998/99 birth years

The Pre-Academy focuses on preparing players for the Development Academy, the highest level of play in the Bolts player system.  The Bolts were one of 78 Clubs across the United States to be selected by US Soccer Federation to participate in this exclusive program, and the only club in Massachusetts with Pre-Academy teams to prepare for the step to DAP.

Age groups for pre-Academy are based on player’s birth year (i.e. 2000 or 2002 or 1998 & 99).  Most participating clubs are members of US Soccer Development Academy (USSDA).  The US Club Soccer– Northeast Pre-Academy League (NEPAL) was created to provide a league that is:

(1) Focused on long-term development

(2) For the region’s top boys soccer clubs, allowing consistent, meaningful high-level games appropriately scheduled with higher training-to-game ratios

(3) That allows players to be scouted and evaluated by US Soccer National Staff and Technical Advisors

(4) Designed and structured by the member clubs, based on the needs of the member clubs;

(5) Using international rules of competition

(6) That provides an avenue for qualification for a national NPL League Champions Cup

Teams practice three/four times per week and play games on Saturday and/or Sunday.  Practices are held in Waltham, Newton, Southborough, Acton-Boxboro and Cambridge.  In addition to practices and games, teams play in two to three tournaments per year.  Tuition & Program Details will be available at Tryouts  Questions about Pre Academy should be directed to Marco Koolman
